We collect information that you provide directly to us and information that is generated automatically when you use the Platform.
A. Information Provided by Customers
- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and password (managed via Supabase Auth).
- Move Request Data: Pickup and dropoff addresses, preferred move dates, building types (e.g., apartment, townhouse), and inventory details.
- Visual Documentation: Photos of room contents and specialty items uploaded to provide Movers with accurate inventory visuals.
- Communication: Notes or instructions provided to Movers during the quoting process.
B. Information Provided by Mover Partners (Businesses)
- Business Profile: Legal business name, contact information, website, and years in business.
- Credentials: Professional licenses and insurance documentation required for DMV regional service.
- Staff Details: Names and roles of employees authorized to place bids on behalf of the organization.
C. Automatically Collected Information
- Geographic Data: Precise coordinates (latitude/longitude) of pickup and dropoff locations to calculate distance and facilitate regional validation.
- Log Data: IP addresses, browser type, and timestamps of Platform interactions (captured for security and performance monitoring).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information to facilitate the reverse-auction model and ensure a secure transaction flow.
- Marketplace Facilitation: Sharing Customer move requests and inventory photos with vetted Mover Partners to enable accurate bidding.
- Real-Time Bidding: Displaying Mover bids instantly to Customers in accordance with our transparent marketplace model.
- Regional Validation: Enforcing our service area restrictions (DC, Maryland, and Northern Virginia).
- Transaction Management: Orchestrating the 15% deposit system and coordinating the transfer of job details upon booking.
- Notifications: Sending automated job alerts, bid updates, and deadline reminders via email.
3. How We Share Your Information
Your information is shared between users of the Platform and with select third-party service providers.
A. Sharing Between Users
- Marketplace Visibility: When a Customer posts a move, their inventory details and photos are visible to all registered Mover Partners in the marketplace. Pickup and dropoff addresses are visible to ensure accurate routing.
- Booking Disclosures: Once a Customer accepts a bid, we share the full contact information (Name, Email, Phone) between the Customer and the winning Mover Partner to facilitate coordination.
- Public Links: If a Customer elects to share their quote via a public link, the quote details (inventory and general route) will be accessible to those with the URL.
B. Third-Party Service Providers
- Infrastructure: We use Supabase for database hosting, user authentication, and secure image storage.
- Payments: We use Stripe to process payments, manage deposits, and facilitate payouts. Stripe collects and processes your financial information in accordance with their own security and privacy policies.
- Communications: We use Resend to deliver transactional emails and marketplace notifications.
- Maps & Logistics: We use third-party map providers (e.g., Leaflet/OpenStreetMap) to process geographic data and calculate transit distances.
4. Data Security & Storage
We implement robust security measures to protect your data.
- Row-Level Security (RLS): We use PostgreSQL RLS to ensure that users can only access data appropriate to their role and ownership.
- Direct-to-Storage Uploads: Photos are uploaded directly from your browser to secure storage buckets, bypassing intermediate servers to minimize data exposure.
- Encryption: All sensitive data is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard protocols.
5. Your Rights and Choices
- Account Deletion: You may request the deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time, subject to active contract obligations.
- Bid Withdrawal: Mover Partners may withdraw bids at any time before the deadline, which permanently removes their offer from the Customer's view.
- Data Correction: You may update your profile or business credentials through the respective Settings portals.
6. Geographic Restrictions
Quoted. operates exclusively in the DMV Region. Use of the platform from outside this region is restricted for logistical and regulatory compliance.
